- Конкретный день праздника: on Christmas Day / on New Year’s Eve
Период (длинный) → in

- in the morning / afternoon / evening (но: on Monday morning)
- in the past / future
Нюанс night:
at night = «по ночам, ночью (вообще)»; in the night = «в ту ночь, ночью (внутри ночи)», часто с доп. событием (I woke up in the night).

- in the end = в итоге, наконец: In the end, we agreed.
- at Christmas vs on Christmas Day
- период праздников vs конкретный день.
