A) Кыска (адатта 1 муундагы) сөздөр → –er / –est

Кыска сөздөр үчүн –er жана –est формалары колдонулат.

B) Узун (адатта 3+ муун) жана көпчүлүк 2 муундагы -y/-ful/-ing/-ed… → more / most

Жазылыш эрежелери (orthography)

• -e менен бүтсө: large → larger, the largest (э сакталат).
• CVC (жөнөкөй үнсүз–ун–үнсүз): big → bigger, the biggest (g эки эселенет); hot → hotter, the hottest.
• -y менен бүтсө (алдын ала үнсүз): happy → happier, the happiest.
